Not too much to report up here in Seattle. I am preparing for another trip to Amsterdam — I am to be a judge in the 13th Annual Cannabis Cup. It should be pretty cool, but I really don't smoke or eat that much pot. In fact the last time I did any was like 6 months ago. Still, I am committed to the idea of it. I will also have to train for my Marathon there as well, so that will slow my bong hits down a little bit.

The elections are less than a week away, and Washington State could still go either way. I have swapped my vote with some people in Texas — they will vote for Ralph Nader if I vote for Al Gore. That way Nader will get the 5% and Washington State can give Gore the electoral votes. It all seems strange, but in the end it will work out.

Quick, I need to know — are those things that live in Bert's flower box on Sesame Street called Yip Yaps, or Twiddle Bugs? It's an imperative. I have searched around for a picture of them but can't seem to find one. I seem to recall they made some sort of sound and sometimes drove a car, or was it a space ship. Yip, Yip, Yip.

Time for a small political outburst. I had the pleasure of meeting one of the candidates for State Congress — his name is Joe Szwaja, a Green Party member who stands for many of the same things I do. I even donated some cash for his campaign. Let's see if he wins on Tuesday.

I love the rain, and the dark, and it's here to stay — at least for a few months.

The Election is totally crazy, as I am sure you know. I voted for Ralph Nader and I am proud of my choice. I see that my votes have had a big impact on things, even though my particular vote doesn't count in Washington State.

I've also been thinking about the ramification of past treaties that have had an impact on Mexican Americans and Native Americans. If people want to talk numbers, let's address these grievances as well — there are more than a few votes lost here. Let's bring out all the dirty laundry, and then let's see where things stand.

I am back from Amsterdam, and all I can say is that was one hell of an experience. I am hoping to put together some entries on the event. However, you must be patient, because I need to run that damn marathon first — stay tuned.

Not much doing here in Seattle. I am a little pissed at my ISP, so I may be changing soon. I did complete the Seattle Marathon on Sunday. It was wet and cold, with more than a few sucky hills thrown in for good measure. My time was worse than the Portland Marathon by about 10 minutes, but I hope to do better when the Vancouver Marathon comes around next May.

The plan now is to chill out and rest for the rest of the year, then come back strong and ready for business with some triathlon and mountain bike racing. I just have to re-set my goals and priorities, and I think I will do just fine.

It has been just about a year since the infamous anti-WTO riots here in town. Those events had a profound effect on my reality, and I am still trying to figure out just what the hell happened. I have changed a lot, and can only say I am a more progressive person than I was before. Still, it is time to move on in a better fashion.

PS: If you want to know more about my Cannabis Cup doings, just ask.
